A Team of Ostroh Academy Students Represented the University at the All-Ukrainian Intellectual Tournament Dedicated to the Europe Day

May 07, 2025

On May 7, as part of the Europe Days, a team of National University of Ostroh Academy students participated in the All-Ukrainian intellectual student online tournament dedicated to the Europe Day 'EuroFormat: Strength in Diversity!'. One of the event's co-organisers was the Scientific Library of the NaUOA, and the European Union Information Center coordinated the event.

The first stage of the competition was a creative homework assignment that allowed the teams to get to know each other. During the tournament's opening ceremony, the participants demonstrated original presentations, each dedicated to one of the European countries.

"The team of Ostroh Academy, which participated for the first time, chose to represent the magical Ireland. Thanks to the support and resources of the library, the students prepared for the assignment responsibly, choosing an apt slogan, 'A country without a language is a country without a soul,' reflecting the country's rich culture, art, and unique national characteristics. During the online meeting, the team proudly proclaimed their slogan in Irish, which aroused the interest of other participants,"

said Halyna Tsepiuk, Director of the Scientific Library.

The second test was an intellectual quiz on the popular Kahoot platform. The students of Ostroh Academy demonstrated their sound knowledge and erudition by answering the questions with gusto. As a result, among more than 200 participants and 30 teams, the representatives of Ostroh Academy took the honourable 5th place in individual and team competitions.

Uliana Sysa, a 2nd-year student of the 'Information, Library and Archival Science' programme and team captain, said:

"Participation in the tournament was fun and a great opportunity to deepen our knowledge of European values. Kahoot was dynamic, and getting to know the teams and presenting our own was an interesting and exciting moment."

Yehor Popov, a 3rd-year student of the 'International Relations' programme, noted:

"First of all, I would like to thank the Ostroh Academy Library for inviting me to such an interesting event and the organisers for the opportunity to test my knowledge and gain a new one."

Polina Martynovska, a 2nd-year student of the 'History and Archaeology' programme, added:

"I am sincerely grateful to the organisers of the Europe Day competition for the high level of the event. Representing our team was an important experience, and participating in Kahoot helped deepen our knowledge of European integration."

The participation of Ostroh Academy students in such a large-scale intellectual event is a valuable experience, broadening their horizons, deepening their knowledge of European countries and strengthening their team spirit. We are grateful to the Scientific Library of the NaUOA for their support and assistance in preparing the team. We congratulate the students of Ostroh Academy on their worthy performance and wish them new victories!
