On May 6, the National University of Ostroh Academy hosted a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities members under the President of Ukraine in Rivne Oblast.
Among the event attendees were MPs, representatives of line ministries, heads of regional executive authorities, and local communities.
The Head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Koval, and the Head of the Office of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, Liliia Pashynna, delivered welcoming remarks.
The President of Ostroh Academy, Doctor of Science (Psychology), Full professor Ihor Pasichnyk, focused the participants' attention on the university projects supporting veterans, in particular:
- training case managers and social managers;
- educational programmes for military personnel and veterans, as well as their families;
- courses and programmes for psychological and mental support;
- scientific research, 'Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Veterans and Persons Affected by Military Operations through the Formation of Metacognitive Monitoring';
- and a scientific research, 'Methodology of Self-Assessment of Community Readiness for Reintegration of Veterans and Their Families', implemented by the analysts of the School of Political Analysis - POLIS.
Oleksii Movchan, Member of Parliament of Ukraine, spoke about the corporatisation of utility companies and corporate governance at utility companies.
Maryna Koroliova, Head of the Veterans Policy Department of Rivne Oblast Military Administration, focused on the veterans policy in Rivne Oblast, namely the best cases in implementing the Heroes' Policy.
Andrii Karaush, Head of Rivne Oblast Council, and Olha Yutovets, Head of the Department for International Cooperation and European Integration of Rivne Oblast State Administration, presented a report on 'Current Trends in the Development of Interregional Territorial Cooperation and Prospects for Strengthening Regional Relations with the EU Member States at the Level of the Oblast and its Territorial Communities.'
At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed participation in the III International Summit of Cities and Regions; in particular, they made proposals for the representatives from the oblast.
