On May 12-16, the National University of Ostroh Academy hosted the 30th Academic Conference, 'Science Days 2025'. The event was a vibrant gathering, uniting diverse participants, including faculty, students, and postgraduates of the NaUOA, scholars from various educational and scientific institutions, experts, and pupils and students from scientific lyceums and colleges.
The Rector of Ostroh Academy, Doctor of Science (Psychology), Full professor Eduard Balashov, delivered a welcoming speech:
"I congratulate the team of organisers headed by Dmytro Mykhailovych Shevchuk and thank you for the good and thorough preparation of the scientific festival at Ostroh Academy. The university is not just a place where we train highly qualified specialists, but also where we conduct research. I am sincerely glad that scientific research at Ostroh Academy is at a high level, and its intensity and practice-oriented focus are improving. We will continue to work like this in the future.”
A total of 58 scholarly activities occurred during the Science Days, covering a wide range of topics, including 33 scientific sections, 12 round tables, four presentations of publications, and activities of scientific clubs and laboratories. The diversity of the issues discussed during the panel discussions, from 'City-Forming Universities' to 'Chaplaincy Model for Ukraine', 'Paradigm of Values of Ukrainian Media in the Context of War', and' Resilience of Communities in War', made the Science Days a comprehensive and engaging event for all participants. A panel discussion by the SPA POLIS 'Resilience of Communities in War' was performed in the framework of the project 'Studies of Principles and Values of European Politics from Pericles to Modern Times № 101127113 - POLIS - ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH'.
The conference began with a global perspective, as Ambassador Yurii Poliukhovych, a Ukrainian Mayanist scholar, historian, and Cand. Sc. (History), delivered a public lecture on 'Modern Ukrainian Studies of Pre-Columbian American Civilisations.'
From May 12 to 16, the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Management held the following sections: 'Psychological Resilience and Mental Health in War: Challenges and Resources', 'Metacognition as a Resource: Between Theory and Practice', 'Social and Psychological Support of Educational Space Subjects', 'Public Health', 'Ukrainian Education in Modern Socio-Cultural Conditions', 'Topical Issues of Stylistics, Linguodidactics and Culture of the Ukrainian Language', 'Media Projects', 'Modern Ukrainian Lexicon in Semantic, Cognitive and Grammatical Dimensions', 'Literary Achievements of Ukrainian Writers: Contemporary Interpretation', 'Creative Quest of Ukrainian and World Writers of the 21st Century', 'Challenging Issues of Cultural Theory, Philosophy and Religious Studies', 'Topical Issues of Ukrainian and World Culture' and round tables: 'Challenges for Public Health in the Context of War and Post-War Reconstruction: Problems, Solutions, Prospects', 'Peculiarities of Forming a Safe Inclusive Space in the Modern Educational Environment', 'Cultural Dialogue in Post-Truth Times: European Lessons for Ukraine' and the annual round table meeting on gender issues 'Challenges of War for Women and Men in Different Spheres of Public Life'.
In addition, a presentation of the results of the activities of the scientific group ‘Life Scenarios: Theory and Practice’ and a master class (training) on information and bibliographic support for public health research were held.
Another event dedicated to the Science Days was the presentation of the monograph 'Keys of Fantasy Storytelling. Literary Essays', organised jointly with the Scientific Library of the NaUOA. The author of the monograph, Zoriana Hodunok, Cand.Sc. (Philology), Associate professor of the Department of Journalism and PR Management provided a unique perspective on the art of storytelling in the fantasy genre, making a significant contribution to the field of literature.
The Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Business as part of the Science Days scheduled the following roundtables: 'Development of the Financial Market of Ukraine', 'Management of Organisations in Ukraine: Digital Innovations and Development Prospects', 'Development of Entrepreneurship in Ukraine in the Context of Uncertainty: Challenges and Prospects', 'Information Technology and Data Analytics', and the 11th International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference 'State Financial System: Tendencies and Prospects for Development'.
The Educational and Research Institute of Linguistics held the discussion sections 'Modern Technologies of Teaching English Language and Literature', 'Applied Linguistic Studies in Terms of Intercultural Communication', 'Lexical and Phraseological Aspects of Discourse', 'Modern Linguistic, Pedagogical and Methodological Aspects of Teaching English as a Foreign Language' and a round table meeting on Applied Psycholinguistic Research: Psycholinguistic Experiments.
Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations and National Security held the following sections: 'Topical Issues of International Relations', 'Regional Studies', 'Internal and External Dimensions of Politics in Time of War', 'Public Policy and Institutional Rules in Ukraine', 'Public Administration in Time of War', 'Challenges and Threats to the National Security System of Ukraine', 'Challenges and Threats to the Modern System of International Security', 'Some Security Issues of the Present', 'Modern Directions of Social Communications in the Information Space', 'Innovation Management and Topical Issues of Information Space Development', 'Ostrohiana. History of Volyn', 'Russia-Ukraine War. 2014-2025', 'Historiography and Source Studies', 'History of Ukraine'; a round table meeting of the Center for European Studies 'European Wartime Diplomacy: Testing Partnerships, Alliances and Security Mechanisms' and a workshop of the School of Political Analysis 'Polis' on 'Research Challenges. How to Analyse Large Amounts of Textual Data?'
Another event dedicated to the Days of Science was the presentation of the publications 'Counterintelligence in Ukraine', 'Fundamentals of Intelligence Agencies Operations', and 'Fundamentals of Territorial Defense of Ukraine', organised jointly with the Scientific Library of the NaUOA. Mykola Romanov, Doctor of Science (Law), Full professor, and Head of the Department of National Security and Political Science, authored and co-authored these publications.
During a scientific and practical round table meeting, 'New Information Situation and Trends in Alternative Media Development in Ukraine', students and young scientists presented the results of the scientific and practical laboratory, 'The Studio of Strategic Communications'.
The I. Malynovskyi Educational and Scientific Institute of Law held two round table meetings: 'Topical Issues of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics' and 'Reforming the Legal System of Ukraine: Current Realities and International Experience'.
Among the general academic events was an intellectual game organised by the 'Academician' and the NaUOA Students Brotherhood, and a section of the 'Academician' on 'Scientific Research of Students.'

At the end of the final meeting of the Science Days of the NaUOA, lecturers, postgraduate students and students of our university who have significant scientific achievements were awarded Letters of Commendation of the Ostroh Academy and the Department of Education and Science of the Rivne Regional State Administration.
