Valerii Polkovskyi: The Canadian Studies is a New and Extremely Important Area of Research

September 29, 2016

On 26 September, the Department of Business Communication of the National University of Ostroh Academy organized a series of seminars conducted by PhD Valerii Polkovskyi, the president of East European Opportunities (St. Albert, Canada), the director of Canadian Studies Centre of NU OA.

All in all Mr Polkovskyi gave three lectures:

  • «Petro Savaryn, the constructor of Ukrainian Life in Canada».
  • «Contemporary Canadian Literature and Its Place in World Literature».
  • «Canadian Universities: Achievements and Challenges of the 21st century».

Valerii Polkovskyi was born in Ukraine; therefore, he often comes to his native land, shares his knowledge with the Ukrainians and helps them to learn more about Canadian culture, history, literature, and everyday life.

«Canada is a country with an enormous platform for research. The Ukrainians should understand that we need to pay much more attention to studying it, as now our fellow citizens’ knowledge of Canada is rather limited. This country is our strategic partner, especially nowadays, when we need foreign aid. Canada in its turn continues helping Ukraine and is ready to keep providing us with financial aid»,

says Mr Polkovskyi.
