The National University of Ostroh Academy is the successor of Ostroh Slavic, Greek and Latin Academy, the first higher educational establishment of the Eastern Slavs.


The National University of Ostroh Academy receive the status of autonomous research national higher educational establishment.

Teaching and research in the National University of Ostroh Academy is organised by Faculties. There are five Faculties and I. Malynovskyi Institute of Law offering sixteen prestigious specialities.

Ostroh Academy celebrated the Ukrainian Cinema Day

Each year, the National University of Ostroh Academy holds a special celebration of the Ukrainian Cinema Day. Last September, students of the Academy had an opportunity to enjoy watching Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, a legendary Ukrainian film. The not less film, The Lost Letter, was screened this year in the Academy.

According to Daria Shvaia, Director of the Culture and Arts Centre, the comedy directed by Borys Ivchenko deserves consideration, because it was once censured by the Soviet administration, and banned for almost 20 years.
