A new launch of Canada-Ukraine exchange programmes in Ostroh Academy

September 06, 2012

Traditional Canada-Ukraine exchange programmes launch each September in Ostroh Academy: two groups of Ukrainians travel to Canada, and Canadian volunteers arrive to Ukraine.

For over 15 years already, the National University of Ostroh Academy has been cooperating with Canada World Youth, a Canadian NGO. Over 500 students have visited Canada by participating in it. In recent years, the number of programmes has doubled, each year providing a participation opportunity to 40 Ukrainian volunteers.

The exchange programme participants volunteer for various NGOs like Red Cross, orphanages, old people's homes, kindergartens, schools, etc.

Upon completing a project in each of the host communities (towns Ostroh and Netishyn), a global public health or environmental issue solution must be prepared by the exchange participants.
