Ostroh Academy lecturer took part in an international research conference in Saudi Arabia

On 15-17 April, International Forum Islam and Peace organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education took place in the University of Dammam (Dammam, Saudi Arabia). Over 60 participants from nearly 20 countries took part in the event. Mykhailo Yakubovych, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Religious Studies, delivered his report on the issues of freedom of belief in modern Islamic exegetics.
According to Mr. Yakubovych, the participants of the forum found that the study of Islam, and its western branch in particular, should renounce traditional post-colonial superstitions and turn to preserving historical sources. The results of this conference were published in a collection of scientific papers.
