Oleksandr Irvanets Celebrates Jubilee In Ostroh Academy

A meeting with a famous writer Oleksandr Irvanets on the occasion of his 50th anniversary took place in Ostroh Academy National University. "If I were asked what I would do if I knew the end of the world was the following day, I would say lecture in Ostroh Academy", the writer said in his opening statement.

Radio Svoboda broadcast the event live. Writer and Vice-rector of Ostroh Academy Petro Kraliuk, member of the National Writer's Union of Ukraine and professor at Ostroh Academy Oleksandr Krylovets, writer and translator Andrii Bodnar, literary critic and essayist Oleksandr Boichenko and the patriarch of literary group Bu-Ba-Bu Yurii Andrukhovych visited the meeting to say happy birthday to Oleksandr Irvanets. Besides, the ode in praise of Mr Irvanets by Oleksandr Krylovets, set to the music by Aleksandra Pakhmutova, was performed during the meeting.

Known for his startling reputation, Mr Irvanets impressed the audience again. The mask of Spider-Man he wore expressively proved that the spirit of Bu-Ba-Bu is still strong in the poet's body.
