Culture Studies Website Launched

January 25, 2011

A culture study web page was launched in National University of Ostroh Academy. It can be accessed on-line at http://kulturolog.org.ua.  Dmytro Shevchuk, instructor of the Department of Culture Studies and Philosophy, is the initiator and coordinator of this project. Technical administration of the web-site is accomplished by a fourth-year student Andriy Cherukha.

"At a certain moment we decided to launch a website to unite the current students and graduates of the Department of Culture Studies and Philosophy with the aim to promote culture study as a science and create a certain Internet board of our speciality that would inform the students and instructors about scientific activities, turn attention to inquisitive book publications, etc. We plan to post academic course materials, scientific articles, reviews and other information that will help the visitors learn more about Ostroh and the Academy in particular. This year we will hold the second Internet conference on information society. It is our hope and expectation that this website will serve as a platform for discussions during the conference", said Dmytro Shevchuk.

The website's idea and format allow other visitors, besides culture studies students, to participate in its creation and activities related to its work, e.g. on-line conferences. So, everyone willing to cooperate is welcome.
