Famous Writers Visited Ostroh Academy

On 22 May, famous Ukrainian writers, members of Ukrainian Society of Writers Viacheslav Medvid and Viktor Mazanyi had a meeting with the students of Ostroh Academy National University . At the meeting the guests presented their works and discussed the state of modern Ukrainian literature.
Viacheslav Medvid, being the representative of modern Ukrainian gruntivtsi literary movement, told students about his own vision of the state of modern Ukrainian book printing and literature. He stated that modern art has lost its importance, that is why “modern writer is in despair”. According to Mr. Medvid, the American and Scandinavian literatures are of particular importance to him, since thanks to them his experience in writing has been formed.
A writer from Rivne Viktor Mazanyi drew the attention of all present to such phenomenon of literary process as literaturschyna, due to which the author’s individual features in literary works are lost.
