The President of Encyclopedias of Ukraine Foundation in Canada Visited Ostroh Academy

The cooperation between Ostroh academy and Ukrainian diaspora opens up new horizons. The visit of the President of Encyclopedias of Ukraine Foundation in Canada Oleh Ivanusivy started the cooperation between Ostroh Academy and the Foundation.

Oleh Ivanusiv together with his wife Bozhena and daughter Orysia visited Ostroh Academy and met the students. The meeting was an active dialogue between the students and the guests. It was held in two languages: Ukrainian and English. “I had no idea that such place as Ostroh Academy, where the real national spirit and elation is felt, could exist in Ukraine,” shared the impressions of his staying at the university Mr. Ivanusiv.

Being the citizen of Canada, Oleh Ivanusiv actively helps his ethnic Motherland. He made a considerable contribution to the development of the Lemks culture and helped to build up Ukrainian Churches. The popular science ethnographic edition about Zolochiv district Zolochivschyna: Mynule i Suchasne (Zolochivschyna:the Past and the Present) was published with his assistance. Encyclopedias of Ukraine Foundation in Canada fundraises donations, the part of which the Foundation uses for student grants.

The Ivanusivs will actively participate in the establishment of Taras

Zakydalsky Scholarship Fund and will also support the publication of the encyclopedia about Ostroh Academy.
