National University of Ostroh Academy Wins Fundamental Research Grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine

January 09, 2026

The National University of Ostroh Academy has been awarded a research project grant by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. This grant falls under the "Humanities and Arts" category. It is titled "Performative Practices of Reading Ukrainian Children's and Young Adult Literature: Formation of Critical Thinking and Emotional Resilience." The project will launch in 2026 and will be funded from the State Budget of Ukraine. In total, 11 works were selected from 61 submissions in the relevant field, attesting to the high scientific level of the grant proposal.

The project director, Maksym Karpovets, Director of Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Management, PhD in Philosophy, Associate Professor, informed:

"The project is the outcome of collaboration among several scholars: Oleksandra Visych, Tetiana Kachak, Zoriana Hodunok, and Tetiana Mykhalchuk. Together, they are working in an interdisciplinary field to promote emotional resilience and critical thinking among young people through the reading of Ukrainian literature. We all worked together to achieve this result, so it is definitely a shared team achievement. I believe the power of culture is as crucial for our victory as technology or any other factor, because we are also defending our identity, which includes literature. Therefore, the project is not only theoretical, but also has a clear practical application, as the development of original methodologies for disseminating and interpreting Ukrainian texts among young people can shape a strong Ukrainian nation that will be ready to face any challenges in the future."

We are proud of this achievement and wish the project a successful implementation!
