November 02, 2016

On 2 November, within the framework of the celebration of the 440th anniversary of university foundation a charity concert of a prize-winner of Polish and international competitions, a 12-year-old violinist Nazar Plyska-Pasichnyk took place at the National University of Ostroh Academy.

The Fantasia No.7 for Violin Solo by Georg Philipp Telemann was the first composition to be performed. Then accompanied by a teacher of Ostroh Musical School Nataliia Balushko Nazar played the compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Niccolò Paganini, Henryk Wieniawski, Fritz Kreisler, and other famous composers.

During the concert, ₴ 6,266 (about $ 230) was collected to buy a biological prosthesis for a student of Ostroh Academy.

Nazar Plyska-Pasichnyk is a talented Polish violinist of Ukrainian origin. Aged 12 the young musician has already participated in a great number of national and international competitions. In particular, Nazar is the winner of the 3rd International Music Competition Kaunas Sonorum — 2015 in Lithuania, the 5th International Music Competition in Sweden, International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poland, etc. The young musician performs difficult compositions by the most world-famous composers. Since 2015 he has been playing the Guarneri del Gesu replica violin made by a Ukrainian crafter Volodymyr Solodzhuk from Chernivtsi.

Nazar Plyska-Pasichnyk is a son of the Warsaw Chamber Opera soloist Olha Pasichnyk. His music teacher is Ewa Kowar Mikołajczyk of State Primary Music School of Emil Młynarski. In Ostroh, the young musician works with Inna Khmaruk, a violin teacher at Ostroh Musical School.

«I met Nazar for the first time when he was 4. Since that time we have been meeting regularly. I really enjoy working with him. His professional growth can be traced each time we meet. Nazar gets elder, so his technical range expands together with the improvement in emotionally correct performance of compositions. It happens rarely that a 12-year-old child has so developed emotional feeling of music. Apart from being talented Nazar is very hard-working»,

says Inna Hmaruk.

It is to be recalled that the previous year Nazar Plyska gave his solo concert at Ostroh Academy. The money raised were used to support the families of the Heavenly Hundred financially and to buy the outfit for a volunteer student.

«I liked the way Ostroh Academy reacted to my concert. I like being here and I think of coming here again. It is noticeable that students of the Academy appreciate classical music and are ready to apprehend it»,

says Nazar Plyska-Pasichnyk.
