Ostroh Academy Graduate Is In the Top Ten Best Economists According to the Forbes

Oleksandr Talavera, a graduate of the Faculty of Economics of the National University of Ostroh Academy took the sixth place in the ranking of the best economists (Top Economic Thinkers) according to the Forbes.

The Forbes represents the ranking of the best Ukrainian economists for the second time. It includes opinion leaders who identify themselves as Ukrainians and have Ukrainian education.

Oleksandr Talavera works as Assistant Professor of the School of Management at the University of Sheffield (UK).

The main research interests of Mr. Oleksandr are business, corporate finances and banking. He often chooses Ukraine as the subject of studies — seven scientific papers are devoted directly to Ukrainian economy, particularly its financial sector and corporate management. In other works he uses Ukrainian statistics as an example.

Two recent works about Ukraine — «Macroeconomic Uncertainty and Bank Lending: Ukrainian Example» and «An Impact of the Main Credit Bank, the Cost of Conversion and the Results of Companies: Theory and Practice in Ukraine» were published in 2012 in the world famous West magazines Economic Systems and Emerging Markets Finance and Trade respectively.
