The students of the College of Law of Ostroh Academy National University Mariia Tsypiashchuk and Ashot Agaian will represent Ukraine in the International Interviewing and Client Consulting Contest, which is taking place in April 2009 in Las Vegas. They got this unique opportunity after winning the 3rd All-Ukrainian Interviewing and Client Consulting Contest which took place at the Academy of Law Sciences of Ukraine. From among 24 teams, the students of Ostroh Academy National University won the first place. The contest comprised three stages: Selection, Semi-Final and Final. Only teams from Ternopil and Ostroh Academy National University got to the final round.

According to the winners, during the competition the stress was made not only on the regulatory documents, but also on the ethical attitude towards the clients, the capability of maintaining the psychological contact with them. “During the contest the real situation of the working process in a legal office was reproduced. Our main task was to interview the client, to identify the legal problem, and to provide proper consultation”, said Mariia Tsypiashchuk.

According to Ashot Agaian, to reach such high results they needed to work much, to ask professors and lawyers for help. “Personally we are indebted to the lecturers of the College of Law Iuliia Bereziuk and Artem Filipiev. If they had not helped, it would have been difficult for us to have such results”, said Ashot.
