Ostroh Academy Hosted a Lecture by Askold Lozynskyi titled "Quo Vadis, America?"

October 21, 2026

On October 21, the National University of Ostroh Academy hosted an online lecture by Askold Lozynskyi titled "Quo Vadis, America?".

Askold Lozynskyi is a Ukrainian-American lawyer, publicist, and public figure who served as president of the Ukrainian World Congress from 1998 to 2008. He is actively involved in international advocacy for Ukraine and in support of the Ukrainian community abroad. Askold Lozynskyi has been a long-term partner and philanthropist of Ostroh Academy, contributing to the university's educational and scientific initiatives and to the development of research on the Ukrainian diaspora.

At the start of the meeting, the guest was introduced by Professor Eduard Balashov, the Rector of Ostroh Academy and a Doctor of Science in Psychology.

«Askold Lozynskyi is a prominent leader within the Ukrainian diaspora and a dedicated advocate for Ukraine's interests on the international stage. As the Head of the Ukrainian World Congress, he has focused on protecting the rights of Ukrainians, supporting their independence, promoting awareness of Ukraine's history and culture, and fostering international support for the Ukrainian people, especially crucial during the early years of independence.

A vital aspect of Mr Askold's work involves supporting Ukrainian education and youth, as well as the Lozynsky Foundation's charitable initiatives. He actively contributes to the development of student potential and scientific endeavours in Ukraine. We sincerely thank him for his support of the student community at Ostroh Academy. Mr Lozynskyi exemplifies patriotism and has dedicated many years to serving Ukraine beyond its borders. His professional achievements, civic responsibility, and steadfast support for Ukrainian statehood are commendable. It is thanks to leaders like him that the history of modern independent Ukraine continues to evolve,»

commented Eduard Balashov.

Oksana Mararenko, the Head of the International Relations Department at the NaUOA, moderated the meeting.

More than 120 participants attended the event. Students had a unique opportunity to hear insights from an experienced public figure on current political processes, challenges facing American society, international politics, and support for Ukraine. They were able to ask the speaker questions and engage in discussions about the future of the United States.

«Every time I meet with you, I feel happy, especially when meeting with students, as you represent our future. It's also a pleasure to connect with the rector, lecturers, and professors of Ostroh Academy. I sincerely appreciate this opportunity,»

emphasised Askold Lozynskyi.

By the way, for several years in a row, the Lozynskyi Foundation has been supporting talented students at Ostroh Academy with personal scholarships to cover tuition fees. More than 20 NaUOA students have already received such grants.

The scholarship programme is implemented as part of support for education and the development of student youth in Ukraine. It aims to ensure equal access to quality education for those who need it most.

The National University of Ostroh Academy is sincerely grateful to Mr Askold Lozynskyi and the Lozynskyi Foundation for their continued support for talented young people during an extremely difficult time for Ukraine. This assistance is not only an important source of financial support but also a powerful moral incentive for students to continue their studies and build the future of Ukraine.
