From 14 April to 30 June 2026, National University of Ostroh Academy will host the implementation of a unique socio-psychological project – “Music Therapy and Systemic Support for Families Separated by War”, funded by Andreas Tobias Kind Stiftung mbH (Germany).
“Music Therapy and Systemic Support for Families Separated by War” is an innovative project and an intensive psychosocial intervention aimed at restoring the internal resources of Ukrainian families. The project integrates music therapy with a systemic family approach, viewing the family as a holistic system whose emotional balance has been disrupted by war, separation, and chronic stress.
Within the project, music therapy functions as a powerful non-verbal tool that enables participants to safely express complex emotions—fear, the pain of loss, and hope—where words are insufficient. It is grounded in trauma-informed practice and focuses on emotional stabilisation, the restoration of family communication, and the strengthening of psychological resilience.
The following groups are invited to participate:
- families of military personnel;
- internally displaced families;
- families with members currently residing abroad due to forced circumstances;
- families experiencing loss or uncertainty (including missing persons and captivity cases).
The project includes parallel group work for adults, adolescents, and parent–child pairs, as well as individual systemic counselling for each family.
Participation in the project is free of charge; however, the number of places is limited.
