The National University of Ostroh Academy is the successor of Ostroh Slavic, Greek and Latin Academy, the first higher educational establishment of the Eastern Slavs.


The National University of Ostrog Academy cooperates with foreign educational and scientific institutions, scientists, representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora.

The National University of Ostroh Academy receive the status of autonomous research national higher educational establishment.


Ostroh Academy University library which provides the resources for research and educational purposes, the access to the electronic catalogue of the library and foreign library networks.

Teaching and research in the National University of Ostroh Academy is organised by Faculties. There are five Faculties and I. Malynovskyi Institute of Law offering sixteen prestigious specialities.


Ostroh Academy abounds with the projects which welcome the students willing to actively participate, reveal their creative potential and realize their selves.

Mykhailo Slaboshpytskyi Visited Ostroh Academy

Mykhailo Slaboshpytskyi’s second visit to Ostroh Academy as the Executive Director of the League of Ukrainian Supporters was concerned with the presentation of new books and the discussion of the state-of-the-art of Ukrainian literature.

Besides, the All-Ukrainian Mother Tongue Connoisseur Competition was discussed since the League is its sponsor and Ostroh Academy students regularly take part in it.
“I had already discussed the possibility to initiate some sort of a contest using the facilities of Ostroh Academy and I believe it is real and we should do it. I am willing to cooperate with Ostroh students”, Mr Slaboshpytskyi addressed the students at the meeting.

Mr Slaboshpytskyi shared some bibliographic reference about Ukrainian artists Todos Osmachka and Maria Bashkyrtseva who worked abroad. Moreover, Mykhailo Slaboshpytskyi encouraged everyone to participate in the contest of historical prose Yaroslaviv Val, promised to visit Ostroh Academy again in May and possibly conduct master classes.
