The National University of Ostroh Academy is the successor of Ostroh Slavic, Greek and Latin Academy, the first higher educational establishment of the Eastern Slavs.


The National University of Ostrog Academy cooperates with foreign educational and scientific institutions, scientists, representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora.

The National University of Ostroh Academy receive the status of autonomous research national higher educational establishment.


Ostroh Academy University library which provides the resources for research and educational purposes, the access to the electronic catalogue of the library and foreign library networks.

Teaching and research in the National University of Ostroh Academy is organised by Faculties. There are five Faculties and I. Malynovskyi Institute of Law offering sixteen prestigious specialities.


Ostroh Academy abounds with the projects which welcome the students willing to actively participate, reveal their creative potential and realize their selves.

Ostroh Club Gathered In Ostroh Academy

On 21-22 January Ostroh Club for Free Intellectual Communication of Youth held its meeting in Ostroh Academy National University. It has become a tradition to gather in Ostroh Academy on the Day of Unity.

The meeting was dedicated discussions of social and political issues. Besides, the participants had a sightseeing tour around the places of interest of Western Ukraine. Chief Editor of all-Ukrainian newspaper The Day, Larysa Ivshyna, was among the guests of this year’s meeting. Ostroh Academy appears to one of few places in Ukraine where youth can associate with Mrs Ivshyna and get new experience.

When the meeting of the Club was closed Larysa Ivshyna took part in the round table discussion Political Culture of the Elite and the Elector: Mutual Liability Practices. A whole row of burning problems and their solution was discussed by the representatives of Ostroh Academy, Ivan Stefanyk Chernivtsi National University and Lesia Ukrainka Volyn National University.

Concluding the conference, the participants had a tour around Ostroh Academy and visited the towns of Kremenets and Pochaiv.
