The Kapranovs’ Version of Ukrainian Book Publishing, Mystical Experiments, and National Philosophy

February 20, 2009

On 20 February the meeting with the writers, publishers and publicists, brothers Vitalii and Dmytro Kapranov, took place in Ostroh Academy National University. They made a presentation of their book Kobzar 2000, the encyclopedia of love magic Liubovne Zillia (Love Philtre), the collection of publicistic articles The Law of Brothers Kapranovy, the ruffianly-philosophical novel The Size Does Matter, and New Thoughts to Kobzar 2000.

During the presentation the brothers read fragments of their works full of folk elements and mysticism, and made an experiment imitating former ritual of witch sinking.
Vitalii and Dmytro called students to creative work. Special attention the publishers paid to the website Gogol’s Academy that gives everyone a possibility to post their own works and review other authors’ works. At present there are about 900 correspondents of this site.

Vice-rector for Studies and Scholarly Activities Petro Kraliuk indicated that brothers Kapranovy are phenomenal, because in modern conditions they manage to deliver the Ukrainian book to the reader and skillfully use everything they succeed to do.
