The National University of Ostroh Academy is the successor of Ostroh Slavic, Greek and Latin Academy, the first higher educational establishment of the Eastern Slavs.


The National University of Ostrog Academy cooperates with foreign educational and scientific institutions, scientists, representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora.

The National University of Ostroh Academy receive the status of autonomous research national higher educational establishment.


Ostroh Academy University library which provides the resources for research and educational purposes, the access to the electronic catalogue of the library and foreign library networks.

Teaching and research in the National University of Ostroh Academy is organised by Faculties. There are five Faculties and I. Malynovskyi Institute of Law offering sixteen prestigious specialities.


Ostroh Academy abounds with the projects which welcome the students willing to actively participate, reveal their creative potential and realize their selves.

Ostroh Academy Signed Agreement with Warsaw University

On 16 January Ostroh Academy Rector Ihor Pasichnyk signed an agreement on the membership of Ostroh Academy National University in the Consortium of Western Ukrainian Universities and Warsaw University during the meeting of the rectors of Western Ukrainian universities (Ostroh Academy National University, Chernivtsi National University, Prykarpattia National University, Volyn National University, Kamianets-Podilskyi National University, Ternopil Pedagogical University).

The provisions of the Agreement stipulate regular functioning of student and teaching staff exchange programmes among the universities. It has been agreed that starting 1 September 2008, 25 students of Ostroh Academy will have an opportunity to take Master’s and post-graduate programmes in Warsaw University. As well, the universities agreed on holding scientific conferences and cooperative research of the issues touching on common Ukrainian-Polish history.

It is worth mentioning that similar agreements were signed between Ostroh Academy and many Ukrainian and foreign educational establishments, particularly Leipzig University (Germany) and the University of Northern Illinois (USA).
