Ostroh Academy National University Celebrated Its 431st Anniversary

On 30 October every year Ostroh Academy traditionally celebrates the Day of the Academy. These celebrations symbolize the historical past and the present of the education.

This year Ostroh Academy turned into a big apiary as the Rector of the university is Ihor Pasichnyk (Ukrainian word pasichnyk stands for English bee-master). He wore a bee-master suit and the lecturers wore the bee-suits during the opening ceremony.

The festive trade fair continued the celebrations. The currency of the fair was OA Bdzhil (Bee) and the visitors could buy different useful things for this money, including the notes of the graduates and bonuses from the lecturers. The celebrations were accompanied by various contests, amusements and performances.

Alongside, the scientific conference Meletii Smotrytskyi and Petro-Konashevych Sahaidachnyi as Ostroh Academy Graduates was held at Ostroh Academy dedicated to the most prominent historical figures of the university.

On this day, Ostroh Academy welcomed European Parliament member Illes Braghetto and Professor of Amsterdam Free University Peter Kozlovski.
