The National University of Ostroh Academy is the successor of Ostroh Slavic, Greek and Latin Academy, the first higher educational establishment of the Eastern Slavs.


The National University of Ostrog Academy cooperates with foreign educational and scientific institutions, scientists, representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora.

The National University of Ostroh Academy receive the status of autonomous research national higher educational establishment.


Ostroh Academy University library which provides the resources for research and educational purposes, the access to the electronic catalogue of the library and foreign library networks.

Teaching and research in the National University of Ostroh Academy is organised by Faculties. There are five Faculties and I. Malynovskyi Institute of Law offering sixteen prestigious specialities.


Ostroh Academy abounds with the projects which welcome the students willing to actively participate, reveal their creative potential and realize their selves.

Zelenyi Kit (The Green Cat) Interuniversity Student Short Films Festival

The festival of the short films shot with the cell phones, titled Zelenyi Kit will be held in the National University of Ostroh Academy. As a part of the festival, the contest for the best film is announced.

The organization of different festivals and contests is the integral part of the student life in the National University of Ostroh Academy. Similar events increase the activity and initiativeness of youth, broaden the interest range of modern students and help to discover young talents.

The student festival Zelenyi Kit will be held at the university on the initiative of the students of Ostroh Academy and simultaneously the best student films will be chosen out of the works submitted by the applicants.

All creative, out of ordinary individuals who dreamt of being in the director’s place at least once in their lives are welcomed to participate in the contest.

Contest Terms
1. A short film (though not a clip) of a particular plot line shot with the help of a mobile phone;
2. Film duration: up to 15 minutes;
3. Topic of the film – The Student Spring.

Deadline is 7 May 2008. Works and applications should be handed to the National University of Ostroh Academy Student Brotherhood and to the Department of Technical Supplies of Ostroh Academy recorded on a CD.
