The 13th School of European Studies in Ukraine Took Place in Ostroh Academy

The closing of the School of European Studies took place at the National University of Ostroh Academy on October 4. The project was organized by the EU Delegation in Ukraine and lasted five days. The main objective of the School is the dissemination of the information on the European Union and European integration in particular.
The thirteenth session of the EU project brought together young people from different parts of western Ukraine in Ostroh Academy. Members of the School of European Studies and students had an opportunity to visit lectures of famous representatives of different areas. Thus, the history of Ukraine in the European context was analyzed by visiting professor at Humboldt University Andriy Portnov, the twitter-diplomacy was presented by Olena Dub, the Head of Ukrainian Media Center of Reforms, the essence of economic reforms was explained by business Ombudsman of the State Service of Ukraine Taras Kachka, and the geopolitical aspects of European integration of Ukraine were highlighted by Professor of Kyiv Mohyla Academy Oleksiy Haran.
"After participating in the School I began to see new possibilities for myself. I realized that there are no boundaries, you just have to work, to dream and to make your dreams come true", such are the impressions of the graduate of the third session of the School, one of this year speakers Yunna Heydor.
The time of the School coincided with the opening of the information center of the European Union. On this occasion, the Head of Press and Information Office of the EU in Ukraine Jurgis Vilchinskas personally talked to the participants of the project.
An important aim of the School is to create a network of young educated leaders.
"Now there are many international projects, where you have to have a good team, but if you already know people who can help and give an advice – no problem", said the School participant from Lutsk Olexiy Tabachuk.
"Yet there is a stereotype that universities in Ukraine stay a little bit conservative and behind. But Ostroh Academy is an indication that there are the universities widely opened and qualitative", are the impressions of Ostroh of a moderator Volodymyr Yermolenko.
Also at the School of European Studies the event "Book Eurotoloka" with Sophia Andrukhovych and the Old Lion Publishing House was organized. During the action the project participants and students participated in the contest "The Book that Changed Europe", for which they received different books as a present.
