General Information
The Department of International Verbal Communication was established on April 8, 2005, by the decision of the Academic Council of the National University of Ostroh Academy. On September 1, 2023, it was renamed - the Department of Intercultural Communication.
The Department of Intercultural Communication is an interfaculty Department, professors of which teach the courses General English - 1 for the 1st and 2nd-year students, English for Professional Use for the 3rd and 4th-year students of bachelor's and master's programs at the Faculty of Economics, Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Management and Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations and National Security on full-time and part-time forms of education.
Educational work
The work of the Department of Intercultural Communication of the NauOA is aimed at teaching English as a language of professional communication. Therefore, all teachers of the Department use specialized literature according to the courses provided by the Department for preparing and conducting practical training. The course Foreign Language (for professional use) for bachelors and masters is mandatory for all specialties. All educational and working programs of the Department of Intercultural Communication are compiled in accordance with the scientific theme of the Department.
Within the framework of the educational complexes, practical classes in English, where students have the opportunity to compare and analyze the development of civil society in English-speaking countries, are held to get acquainted with the political and economic systems of different countries of the world, to study the historical and cultural heritage of the world.
Teachers use various forms of work, including debates, reading of specialized literature followed by a discussion, a documentary, and film watching on related subjects.
