The 10th all-Ukrainian festival of Christmas carols

The 10th all-Ukrainian festival of Christmas carols was held on January 30, 2016 in the student and teacher’s church of St. Fedor Ostrozkyi of the National University of Ostroh Academy. The organizers of the event were the main priest and active staff of the church.

«This festival has become a good tradition of this church. Its constant goal is to preserve and develop national Christmas traditions, increase spiritual culture of the population, to have an impact on the formation of world folklore and aesthetic tastes of the younger generation and society in general. Preparations for the event started in November. We are proud of the fact that this year the festival significantly expanded its geography and we were glad to welcome participants from Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions»

27 creative choirs took part in the festival, including the choir of the church of St. Fedor Ostrozkyi «Blagovist», quartet of spiritual song «Emmanuel» (Berezne, Rivne region), band «Pshenychne Pereveslo» (Ternopil), vocal ensemble «Menestrel» (Chernivtsi), quartet «Nadia» (Ostroh), choir of Holy Trinity Church (Rivne), amateur vocal ensemble «Melody» (Bilogir’ia, Khmelnytskyi region), choir of Clergy Diocese «Anaphora» (Rivne), and others. Local poet Oles Undir traditionally recited his poems.

The greatest delight of the audience was caused by children art groups, including ensemble «Netishyn City Art School», exemplary children vocal ensemble «Zdolbunov bells», sisters Anastasia and Natalia Mayor, and others.

«In our team there are two age groups. Younger group visits the event for the first time, and elder — for the second. We love the Academy because we are always very warmly welcomed here, and yet it is very nice place. Some of us want to study at Ostroh Academy in the future»,

All participants of the event received diplomas and valuable gifts.
